Forensics takes second in regionals

The MHCC Forensics team placed second overall at the 2012 Pi Kappa Delta (PKD) Regional Championships this past weekend.

“The team finished second overall to a very large Boise State team but also walked away with the top spot in the Community College Sweepstakes race, defeating the College of Southern Idaho,” said Shannon Valdivia, MHCC forensics coach, in an e-mail sent to all staff Monday.

Five members of forensics — Ryan Rhoades, Kevin Craig, Stephanie Saracco,

Danner Marshall and Rob Sepich — represented MHCC in the regional championship hosted by Spokane Falls Community College.

The team finished with three first-place winners and three second-place winners in the individual debate events.

The same students will represent MHCC Martch 15-18 at the PKD National Comprehensive Championships at Longview Community College in Overland Park, Kan.
