Cultures Celebrated at Global Breakfast

I had the pleasure of being able to attend part of the Global Breakfast event on April 30. This was my second time going, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

From the wide variety of food available to guest in the Vista Dining Hall to the dance exhibitions by several different groups, the atmosphere was one that not many places have anymore.

It was a breath of fresh air to be in a place where everyone can express their culture and learn about other cultures, too, and be able to help keep some of these practices alive.

Every year it seems the Breakfast has a great turnout, and this was no exception.

The first act was a flamenco dance. I haven’t previously seen what it looks like and the music, singing and the dancing was just incredible. The performers even included the audience in their act and taught them all how to do flamenco dancing.

Everywhere I looked, there were people smiling and laughing and enjoying themselves.

There were many people who put a lot of effort into making sure this event turned out incredible – whether the food, the sound equipment, the performances and various people who staffed different tables set up throughout the room offering fun activities.

Although I wasn’t able to stay the entire length of the event, I had a great time and this event every year is something to look forward to.
